FREE LIFE CENTER @ GALLERY HIJINKS
Tonight marks the soft opening of my wonderful girlfriend Lauren Lanzisero and her business partner Jillian Mackintosh’s new art gallery, GALLERY HIJINKS, where they will be hosting the FREE LIFE CENTER, a traveling exhibition by Portland artists and good friends Mark Warren Jacques and Seth Neefus. Free Life Center is a large scale freestanding installation crafted from salvaged building materials. The one-room structure emanates the artists’ homespun aesthetic and their commitment to a high level of DIY craftsmanship. The construction is modular (built in sections) and can be adapted to suit a variety of configurations along their journey, whether it is a traditional gallery space or a site-specific event outdoors. Come by the gallery at 2309 Bryant St (@ 21st) from 7-10pm tonight and 6-9pm tomorrow night to check out their wonderful art and hear live performances from a number of bands. Good times for all.
